We just can't keep up with what we want to do with 2RedBananas and what we need to do as a family so we have decided to close the doors for now. We are not saying that we will not open again...but for now, this is what we need to do.

Banana Split Sunday Color Challenge

Thanks to everyone who participated in last week's challenge! We just love seeing all your talent!

It's really feeling like fall these days and since we had to move the clocks back last night, it will be getting dark even earlier. So today's challenge fits right in with fall. It's a color challenge and the colors are RED, YELLOW, ORANGE and BROWN. You only have to use three, but it you want to challenge yourself even more, use all four :)

There is a prize that will be given to a randomly drawn winner who plays along with this week's challenge. The prize is a fall colors goodie bag chosen by 2RedBananas. So, let see what you can do with these colors.

A Sketch for Banana Split Sunday

Wow, time sure is moving quickly these days! It's time for another Banana Split Sunday and it's a Sketch Challenge week. Usually our sketch challenges are for the week that we are releasing our stamps for the month, but this month our release date has been changed to next Monday, October 26th.

It's Wednesday in our Week of Peeks and we are introducing you to another set by Mindy Baxter. She designs some of the CUTEST images!! This set is called Fuzzy Bears :)! They are just so adorable!

Another day in the Week of Peeks :) Today we are introducing you to Birthday Penny! Just look what the dt has created with her! What fun cards to receive on your birthday!!

Dawn added lots of sparkle and shine to her card!

Lynette added some embossing and pearls to give her card a touch of elegance.

Wendy used unicorns and hearts to make hers perfect for a sweet little girl.

Good Morning! As you know, we took August off from releasing new stamps and we are so excited that the Week of Peeks for the September release is here :) We have so many fun images to show you this week!

We've got a great image from Mindy Baxter to share with you today! This is Pumpkin Penny! We just love Penny, she is adorable and fun to color, paper piece and just about whatever technique you would like to try.

Wendy used lots of fun details on her Pumpkin Penny card!

I used raffia on mine to mimic the straw on the ground under the pumpkins.

Good Morning!

Lots of news to share with you today. 2RedBananas will be taking a short release break this month so we can enjoy what's left of summer. We will have fun new stamps to release in September. Be on the lookout for the Week of Peeks! :)

Instead of seeing sneak peeks this month, we are going to bring you a parade of samples made with card kits that each of the design team members were given. You will see fabulous projects made spotlighting certain products. We will be doing this for the next 3 Wednesdays in August. So be sure to check back often!

Now for some very EXCITING news! For those of you who are active on the SplitCoastStampers site, you know they have an ongoing 'design team'. Last month our very own Deb Felts was chosen to be a "Dirty Girl" and this month they added Jami Bova as a "Dirty Girl". I just am so excited for both of them. Play Your Game and GOAL!

A few more sneak peeks for you :)

Abby Westemeyer has come up with a couple fun sets for the sports fans!! A baseball/softball set called "Play Your Game" and a soccer set called "GOAL". Fun images to go along with the great players that we all know. In fact, as I'm typing this, I'm watching my LSU Tigers baseball team playing in the College World Series :) (Yep, I just had to get that in :)

This first one is made with October Afternoon papers.

Wendy added fun google eyes and precious little heart lips and eyelashes to make a girl soccer player! She also added a number to the jersey :)

I colored the uniform with Siren Smooch ink to make it shine like real soccer uniforms :)

FUN sets that will be available to order on Wednesday, June 17th.

Hi everyone! I have lots of news for you today, but first I wanted to share a card I made the other night. It's kind of in keeping with the challenge for this week. I didn't use 3 different patterned papers, but I did use one patterned paper that is my focus!

Webster's Pages patterned paper is SO beautiful! I didn't want to cover any of the gorgeous images, so I made this card with just the paper, the sentiment stamp from Value of Joy and some ribbon. I embossed the butterfly with clear embossing powder just to make it shine. That's it! This card took me about 5 minutes to make. So, if you're ever in a hurry to get a card made, look into your stash of patterned papers especially ones like this by Webster's Pages.

Okay, now onto the latest 2RedBananas news :)

Due to some timing issues, our June release has been pushed back to Wednesday, June 17th. You will still start seeing sneak peeks here very soon, but the stamps will be available starting Wednesday, June 17th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Fun with Flowers

We have more fun ideas with the sneak peeks for you today. As I was putting these cards on the post, I noticed how much the flowers play such a fun roll in all of them. I just love flowers and incorporate them into my cards as often as possible :)

For this card, Wendy used the "Party Bees" set and really made the flowers a focal point. I just love how she embellished them and that CUTE little bee just sets off the sentiment :)

It's a smorgasbord of sweetness for today's sneak peeks. Today and tomorrow we will be showing you different sets that will be released Monday, May 18th! It's getting close :)

In this card Teresa is showcasing the set "Party Bees" - I just love everything about this card, it's so much fun!!

For this card, Wendy combined two of the wedding sets to create a birthday card - so creative!! The sets she used are, "Tickled Pink" and "Sweetie". Just so cute!!

Here, Jami uses the beautiful "Flourish with Flowers". She used flower-soft for the bouquet and her headpiece, very cool!

Cassie made this fabulous tin using the May Journaling Spot. I love the stars on the inside as well. And she used Smooch ink to ink her stamp, very cool. I can't wait to try that!!
These ladies are creating such fabulous projects!!

Beginning the Week of Peeks

Wow......I just don't know how to begin other than that. These ladies AMAZE me with what they come up with as they design with stamp sets!! As you know, each month we release a journaling spot set that is, in my opinion easier to work into scrapbook pages than cards, but just look at how our Guest Designers, Silke and Denise, have created really cool cards with it as well.

Then Teresa has used the same set, May Journaling Spot, to create a really cool baseball layout of her son's All Star baseball team.

Our 'Week of Peeks' is going to work a little differently this month. I'm not sure who is going to post peeks of what set on what day.....so you and I will be surprised together :) I will be updating the 2RB blog daily, but you will also want to check out each dt member's blog individually to see what everyone has in store :)

Lots of News....

I have lots of news to share with you today, both sad and happy. I'll start with the sad.

As many of you know, Jami Bova will be moving back to the states very soon. She will also be jumping back into the workforce, and will be losing some of her creative time. So, she has decided to stop illustrating stamps. It was a very difficult decision for her, but I know we will all just be thankful that she's not giving up the stamping hobby all together :) You can go to her blog to read more details, Jami. We will have stamps by Sgt Stamper for a couple more months. Jami, we will miss your incredible talent, but will still be stalking your blog ;) Thank you so much for illustrating with 2RedBananas!!! We wish you smooth transitions will the changes you are making!

Maraya Gates is also going back into the workforce and is stepping down from the design team. Maraya, we will miss your incredible talents as well! Your layouts and cards always "wow" me with your designs, so smooth and perfect and BLINGY :) We will miss you and wish you lots of luck with your changes and time to continue creating and updating your blog :)

I personally want to thank you both for helping me to get 2RedBananas started!! You both came on with such excitement, great ideas, and creativity! I truly appreciate what you've done here.

Okay, wiping the tears so I can get to the happy stuff.

We have made some additions to the 2RedBananas design team. Deb Felts and Cassie Larson have accepted design team positions. We're really excited to have them both on the team. Such creativity and talent.....just WOW. You've seen Deb's work as she has been a Guest Designer and we just couldn't let her go! She does amazing work!! You can go to Cassie's blog to see what you will be experiencing in the future :) You've also seen her on PCP, the Cuttlebug Challenge, Twinkling Tuesdays and Flutterby Challenge. Check out her blog post for today....such creativity!! Welcome Deb and Cassie and we're so excited to have you on the team.

We also have 2 Guest Designers for May and June. Denise Marzec (Peanutbee on SCS) and Silke Ledlow (Sparklegirl on SCS). Their talent is AMAZING!! I can't wait to see what they have in store for us. I know I will be learning so many things from them.

As far as products go......PINK PAISLEE is now on the website! There are 3 collections: Captivating, Fascinating, and Fetching all with fabulous colors!! There are also alot of different pieces that coordinate with these lines: Chipboard Elements (self-adhesive :), fancy brads, very cool fabric flowers, rub-ons, cardstock sticker borders, elements and alphas, paper, and FUN colored glitter!!!

Today's post is doing double duty - we are introducing you to "the Early Birds" as well as starting our challenge for this week.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the "Not a Card" challenge last week. The projects were so much fun! Since Easter is tomorrow, we are posting our challenge today and hope that everyone has a wonderfully blessed Easter tomorrow!

Our challenge this week is a sketch challenge, and below you see the sketch that Jami has come up with for us! You can find details about all of our projects on our blogs.

Oh my goodness, these Chickens are SO MUCH FUN!! When Jami designs her stamps, she tests them herself, by printing and coloring and trying them out before they are sent off to become stamps, so you KNOW that what you're getting is a GREAT stamp!

These guys are just FUN!!! Look at Hawaiian Chicken - don't you just want to be there with him??? There are 4 sentiments with this set - I have used one of them on this card. I have more details on my blog.

It's "A Spring Thing"

Are you ready for warmer weather, rain, and lots of flowers? Spring brings it all :)
What a fun set we are introducing you to today! It's called "A Spring Thing" by Abbey Westemeyer.

There are 4 different images in this set and Maraya used 3 of them on her card. I LOVE how she has used them together, what a fun card!!! You can find details about her card on her blog!

I used softer colors on mine, with two of the images from the set. The papers and flower are from the Imaginisce Baby Powder collection, the same collection I used for the baby card yesterday. I love when supplies can be used for many different things :)

Meet Chicken Dumpling and Sgt Chicken :) These Chickens are sooooooooo much fun to play with. They are fun to paper piece, they're fun to color, the possibilities are endless!

Teresa used Chicken Dumpling for her card. I just love the safety pins and the ribbon details!!! Chicken Dumpling also has 4 sentiments that go along. Perfect for all the baby cards that you need to make! Be sure to check out Teresa's blog for more details on her card.

April Journaling Spot

April is here, but you wouldn't know it by the weather here. We got some snow yesterday, not alot, but being a southern girl, by April, it's supposed to be warm :)

Today's sneak peek set is the April Journaling Spot. This month's journaling spot has many elements to it. Wendy, Teresa and I all used different parts of this set, so be sure to check out their blogs.

I just love to use things for something other than what they were intended and I made this set easy to do that with. The journaling block is actually a raindrop, you know April showers...., but I wanted to be able to do more than that with it, so you can see below what else you can do.

The stamps will be released Monday, April 13th. All this week we will have sneak peeks of the upcoming sets, so be sure to stop by tomorrow. Check out all the dt member's blogs too.

Introducing the "Chickens" :)

Good Morning! It's going to be a very busy week here. Today starts our "Week of Peeks " to count down the days until April's release of the new 2RedBananas stamps :)

Today we are featuring two of Jami Bova's new sets. There are 6 of these sets being released on Monday, April 13th. Each one has sentiments that go along with it! The two we are "peeking" today are Birthday Chicken and Cajun Chicken. These little guys are so cute and so much fun to play with! Here is what Jami made with the Birthday Chicken set.

You're a Gem!

Happy Banana Split Sunday everyone!! Before I let you know about this weeks challenge, I want to give you an update on the April stamp releases. Typically you would see us doing our Week of Peeks this week, but as our manufacturer is going through some changes with his office, we have decided to move our release date to the middle of the month. So, we will be doing our Week of Peeks starting April 6th, and the new stamps will be available in the store on Monday, April 13th. We'll be keeping this schedule - so look for our new releases to be mid-month from now on.

Now...on to this weeks challenge! This week we have a prize - the Top Banana will be able to choose a bottle of the new metallic dew drops from the store! We carry three of them which you can see in the picture below. The new dew drops are larger now, and also come in a larger bottle!!

So, in honor of the fun shiny gems, we'd like to see you use gems on your project! It doesn't have to be dew drops - it can be any kind of gem. You can use pearls, or rhinestones, or beads...

Don't forget to give us a direct link to your entry using Mr Linky so you can be entered for the prize! As usual, we'll announce the Top Banana when we post the next challenge next week.
